Bacopa Seeds. supplied as multi-seed pellets
Bacopa (Bacopa Blutopia Blue) – If you like trailing annuals for window boxes, baskets and containers, start Bacopa seeds and enjoy these long-blooming flowers. Bacopa plants were typically propagated by cuttings, but now with flower seed pellets, the germination and establishment is easier for the home gardener. Growing Bacopa from seed assures that you can easily fill countless mixed containers with these delightful spiller-type flowers of lavender-blue. The scientific name for Bacopa is Sutera cordata, and these plants can be perennial in the warm zones of 9 – 11. In these zones, trim the plants back in the late fall.
Everyone loves Bacopa, the flower-happy trailing plant that blooms profusely in spring and fall and even intermittently through summer. It thrives in sun or shade, seems untroubled by pests and diseases, and has tireless bloom strength. And until now, they’ve only been available as plants. Welcome to Blutopia!
We’ve made the growing extra easy with these pelleted seeds, which bundle the very fine seed into a manageable size for easier handling. Just drop one pelleted seed into each sponge of your Bio Dome or sow into a seed flat, and before you know it, you’ll be transplanting the seedlings! And Blutopia needs no pinching to branch nicely and grow like crazy!
If you are new to Bacopas, you will fall in love with these abundant blue blooms. They like cool weather best, but even during the punishing heat and humidity of our South Carolina summers, they continue doggedly, then really flourish again in fall after a trim. Try them among brilliant red Park’s Whopper Petunia for an unbelievable spring-through-fall show. Polish up your favorite baskets and clean out your windowboxes — Blutopia is on the way!
This plant is grown as an annual almost everywhere, but it is a tender perennial, hardy in zones 9-10. If you live in these regions, cut it back in late fall and it will return for you the following spring. Pretty good deal from a pack of seeds costing just pennies a piece! Pkt is 10 pelleted seeds.
