Aster Duchess plants have an upright growth habit and 5 – 8 floral stems. They can reach nearly 28 inches in height, and the stems are strong to make an excellent cutting flower. This Paeony Duchess Aster has exceptionally large, double blooms with incurved petals. Aster Duchess blooms resemble autumn chrysanthemums. They are very showy and stunning in either the flower border or in a vase.
Start the Aster seeds in the early spring. Press the flower seeds into the soil and lightly cover them. Transplant Aster plants outside into a position of full sun to partial shade. They also prefer well-drained soil.
