Lilium bulbiferum, common names orange lily, fire lily or tiger lily, is a herbaceous perennial plant , belonging to the genus Lilium of the Liliaceae family.
The orange lily is a European wildflower similar to the tiger lily, named for the bulbils that dot its stems. The upward-facing flower’s color ranges from red to orange with maroon freckles sprinkled around its center. Lilium bulbiferum var. croceum is the strongest grower . , Lilium bulbiferum var. chaixii generally manages only one or two blooms, but lots of baby bulbs. The orange lilies are hardy in USDA zones 7 to 10, and — like most lilies — should be planted at least 4 inches deep in well-drained soil.

Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours then use 4 weeks at 65-74F, If no germination use 6 weeks at 32- 39F, move to 45-55F for germination which can be spread-out over many weeks. The seed normally shows delayed hypogeal germination. Start with 90 Days warm (65F) and then move to 30-39F for 4 weeks, then move back to 65F for leaf emergence.
